Fellow parents, unite and celebrate! We’ve made it through half the summer and the start of the school year is almost in sight. I know, personally, I start the summer with the best of intentions about how I’m going to do all sorts of educational things with my son and he’s not going to play videogames and watch YouTube all summer but here we are…None of that happened. It’s just not as easy as I thought while working full time running my own business. That summer time crunch is where summer school programs come in.
Summer tutoring can be a great way to help your kids get a jump on the school year, like a tune up, if you will. Even if your child isn’t starting school in the fall, summer school programs are a great way to enrich their growing brains, teach them new skills and give them time to interact with other kids their age. You also get a little break too! (#WinningAtLife).
The even better news is that there is a super cool option I just found out about! My Ontario friends are going to be so excited about it and it’s through Scholars Canada.
Summer School Program Details
There’s an hour of programming each day and two hours of practical activities. They have a Reading Smart program that promotes early literacy skills. Those are among the greatest predictors of success for your child’s learning. Plus, reading is fun! It’s designed for kids aged 3-6.
The other option they have available is called My French. It’s great for getting ready for French Immersion or just saying “Bonjour!” to the French language generally. It’s designed for little language enthusiasts aged 4-6.
The programs are also very affordable! They are just $29.95 per half day when you register for an entire month. The times for both programs are between 9 a.m. and noon, which is a great way to start your day, leaving time for afternoon fun. Need more information? You can email them at: Maple@ScholarsCanada.com or call them at: 289-553-3625.
Their summer camp is located at:
Scholars Education Centre – Vaughan East Location

Give Yourself A Break
As much as you might want to do everything yourself, planning an educational program to keep your child engaged over the summer can be hard work and there’s really no reason to reinvent the wheel, am I right? Some things are just great to leave to the professionals so you can focus on fun and let the folks who do summer tutoring focus on the learning. Everybody wins! You get a fun educational summer for your kid! Your kid gets a fun educational summer experience you don’t have to plan! You might even use that time to run errands, get a pedicure, enjoy a cup of coffee in total serenity knowing your little person is learning. So check it out and tell me how you like it! I can’t wait to hear what you did with your summer!
