I’ve stayed at the Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver twice, most recently because I was attending a cocktail party downtown. We ended up stuck in traffic, and missed the party entirely, but we already had the room so we made the best of it and had a night out on the town. I have fond memories of the hotel restaurant from back when it still had the chocolate buffet (where I had my 25th birthday,) but on that particular night we strolled down Robson Street and had dinner at Timbre. It was a great gastropub and we really enjoyed our meal. We went shopping on Robson Street at the Roots store a little before retiring to our room.
I think the hotel looks really elegant and classy. I like the classic look to the decor in the rooms and lobby. The bedding was really luxurious. The staff were friendly and hospitable. As far as the amenities go, they have a spa on site, a pool, jacuzzi and gym which is handy if you want to get a workout in. It definitely gives you a taste of what it’s like to live downtown as a local, but still have a premium experience.
Being so close to shopping and a wide array of restaurants is a fun plus that we look for when we select a hotel. We liked the city view from our room, it was a great vantage point from which to experience the Vancouver skyline. It’s easy to get a cab from outside the hotel and explore further afield if desired. The Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver is a nice luxury experience on Robson Street and it was an evening we won’t soon forget.
